Tiany Chen brings over a decade of experience in community outreach, volunteer leadership, and administrative coordination to HeCares. Fluent in both English and Chinese, she has built a strong background in nonprofit management, donor relations, and event coordination—skills that enhance her ability to connect with and serve diverse communities.
She holds a Master of Science in Biochemical Engineering from Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) in the Netherlands and completed two years of a Ph.D. program in Immunology and Vaccine Research at UMass Medical School, where she contributed to influenza vaccine research.
A certified Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and CPR Instructor, Tiany is deeply committed to community health, safety, and education. She is currently pursuing her Doctor and Master of Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine (DAcHM/MAcHM) at Five Branches University in San Jose, expanding her expertise in Traditional Chinese Medicine to bridge modern science and holistic healing.
