Dr. Xu He is a licensed acupuncturist and sports medicine specialist with nearly 20 years of clinical and research experience in Traditional Chinese Medicine–based sports medicine. Her work focuses on sports injuries, musculoskeletal pain, and functional recovery.
Dr. He served as a team physician for the Chinese National Figure Skating Team during the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic cycle, providing treatment and rehabilitation support for elite athletes. She also participated in national team medical support during the Paris 2024 Olympic cycle. Her extensive experience working with high-level athletes has given her deep expertise in sports injury care, functional recovery, and return-to-sport management.
Her clinical approach integrates acupuncture, sports biomechanics, functional movement assessment, and individualized rehabilitation guidance. Rather than focusing only on pain relief, Dr. He emphasizes identifying the underlying causes of dysfunction, including movement patterns, joint stability, muscle control, and long-term physical performance. Her goal is to help patients reduce pain, restore function, and return safely to sports and daily life.
Her research on acupuncture treatment for sports injuries in elite athletes has been accepted for presentation at the 2026 Annual Meeting of the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM). This reflects her ongoing clinical and academic commitment to integrative sports medicine and acupuncture.
